What We Do

TYC focuses on the following four programme areas:

  1. Youth Livelihood and Employment
  2. Environment and Livelihood
  3.  Gender and Youth Health
  4. Capacity Building and Networking

The strategic goals under each programme are:

Area 1: Youth Livelihood and Employment      

  • To facilitate youth empowerment that will contribute in securing their livelihoods.
  • To contribute in the making and implementation on public policies on issues related to youth livelihood.

Area 2: Environment and Livelihood

  • To contribute in enhancing the capacity of youth in utilizing livelihood opportunities arising from environment related policies

Area 3: Gender and Youth Health

  • To strengthen the capacity of youth and TYC member organizations on behaviour change communications and life skills in the context of SRH.
  • To advocate for youth to have equal access to and control over resources such as land, income and other productive assets.

Area 4: Capacity Building and Networking

  • To enhance the coalition building and networking capacity of TYC.   


TYC ensures that the voice of a young person is heard in all policy platforms at local, national and international levels.  Tanzania Youth Coalition (TYC) does the work of facilitating information dissemination, sharing and exchange, policy analysis, lobbying and advocacy.  TYC is registered under the NGO Act of 2002 no. 00NGO/1382 (TYC SP 2010).
